Oily Skin Solution
Overactive sebaceous glands (oil glands) are to blame for too much oil (sebum) in the skin. Oil is important in the skin as it lubricates the skin’s surface and is part of the skin’s natural protective barrier (acid mantle) but, too much sebum is responsible for clogging the pores, making the skin look shiny and can create an ‘orange peel’ look to the skin.

• It’s important to use products that will not dry your skin
• The key is to balance and reduce oil flow, not strip all oil which increases oil flow and refines your pores.
• You need a gel cleanser to help mop up the excess oil without stripping and drying your skin.
• Oily skin is often dehydrated and needs hydration (moisture)
• Light oil-free serums and a lotion-type moisturiser gives the skin what it needs without making it oily.
• Drinking plenty of purified water also prevents the skin from over-secreting oil.
• Using an exfoliating gel or scrub helps deep clean clogged pores, mop up surface oil and remove dead skin buildup.

Combination Skin Solution

Combination skins can be very frustrating for people as products either cause the skin to become oilier in the T-zone or they dry out the oil causing the skin to feel dry, and flaky, causing a ‘temperamental’ skin condition. Signs of combination skin
• Oily, shiny T-zone
• Normal to dehydrated cheeks
• Skin can feel dry (dehydrated) and oily at the same time
• The skin isn’t dry (lacking oil) it is dehydrated, meaning it lacks moisture (hydration)

How to take care of combination skin
• Do not use products that dry the oily T-zone and do not use products for dry skin as they contain oil and will make your T-zone oiler.
• It is essential that you use the correct products to balance the oily T-zone and keep your cheek area normal and hydrated.
• Your skin needs moisture (water), not oil – you have enough oil!
